From the Amazon.

From the Amazon.
For your skin.

Jagua is the fruit of Genipa americana, used for centuries by indigenous Amazonian peoples for body adornment. The juice oxidizes on contact with skin and develops into a deep blue–black — naturally, without a single synthetic dye.

No PPD. No henna. No cosmetic shortcuts.
Just one fruit, one tradition, and the most uncommon ink on earth.

06 — QUESTIONS

Frequently asked.

How do they work?

Unlike surface-level temporary tattoos, UNKOMUN jagua ink sinks into the skin for a real-tattoo look. Painless, needle-free. Apply with water — 30 seconds. Wait 2 hours, peel off the paste, and watch the ink interact with the proteins and keratin in your skin, gradually darkening into deep blue-black over 24–48 hours.

How long does a UNKOMUN tattoo last?

1 to 2 weeks. Wear time varies with placement, daily activities, and skin moisture. The jagua naturally fades as your skin renews — a seamless, real tattoo look that disappears on its own. No scrubbing, no removal needed.

What is jagua ink, exactly?

Jagua is the juice of Genipa americana, an Amazonian fruit indigenous communities have used for body art for over 2,000 years. Plant-based, vegan, sourced ethically and processed for cosmetic-grade safety.

Is it safe? Any allergies?

Yes — UNKOMUN ink is PPD-free, EU Cosmetic Regulation compliant, dermatologically tested, and made from organic ingredients. We recommend a patch test before first use, especially if you have sensitive skin. Not for use on broken skin.

If you have any concerns or discomfort, email hello@unkomun.com — we're here to help.

Do you ship overseas?

Yes — free shipping worldwide on every order, no minimum. Your tattoos arrive at your door wherever you are.

Do the tattoos have an expiry date?

Our jagua ink has a 2–3 year shelf life when kept in a dry, cool place. Plenty of time to try one out.

Is UNKOMUN vegan and cruelty-free?

100%. Jagua is a fruit extract — no animal products, no synthetic dyes, no PPD, never tested on animals.

How is jagua different from henna?

Henna develops in orange-brown tones; jagua develops into a deep blue-black that reads as a real tattoo. Jagua is also PPD-free, unlike many 'black henna' products which often contain harmful PPD additives.

What if I don't like the design once it develops?

The first 24 hours are when the ink darkens. If you regret the design — live with it for a week or two. That's the point. No forever.
